City Asks Residents To Remain In Place

Wednesday October 9 4 p.m.

To Laurel Park Residents:

We hope you and your family are in a safe spot as we wait on Hurricane Milton to move through later tonight.

City staff asked us this afternoon to pass on the following:

  • If you did not evacuate, please be very careful over the next day-even when you think the storm has passed. It is still possible that the storm’s eye will move directly over our area tonight, so there may be a brief period where things settle down and it appears the worst has passed before the backside of the storm kicks in shortly afterwards.
  • For those that did evacuate, the City asks that you stay put where you are until it is known that it is safe to travel back into the City.

We have had a fair amount of wind and rain so far this afternoon, with the weather forecasters still saying the brunt of the storm’s impact will come later tonight and early tomorrow. As we hear more instructions from the City after the storm moves through, we’ll pass them on by email and on the website.

Stay safe,

Laurel Park Neighborhood Association Board
