The building was constructed in 1926 by the Burns Construction Company, and is known as the”Katie Mae Hale House”.  It is designated as locally historically significant.

On September 26, 1925, the Burns Realty Co. sold the property to Katie Mae Hale. Regrettable, little is known about Ms. Hale except that she owned the house until 1937. She sold the house to George C. Knapp, a builder, who occupied the house with his wife, Henrietta, until December 20, 1939.

This modest single family residence is one-story high with a rectangular plan. Construction is of novelty siding over a wood frame resting on concrete piers. The front facade is dominated by an almost full-width open front porch. A low pitched double front-facing gable roof, surfaced in composition shingles, covers the porch and the main block of the house. Simple square columns support the roof of the front porch. Centered under the wide open eaves at the gable peak of the porch roof is a decorative milled sunburst motif. This sunburst motif is derived from the late 19th Century English Arts & Crafts movement. A square louvered wood vent is centered on the front wall of the porch gable.
